    Pros +

    • This hotel is in the Kumkapi area of town, it's known for it's seafood restaurants. Happy locals, live traditional bands, plenty of Raki, its a really cool spot. Besides that the room was perfectly sized, the hosts very helpful. Best night sleep in
    • I’m the founder and the owner of ITTOMBATRAVEL agency , means I’m a traveling lover .What I really is decorating is a very simple wooden pieces . It was a nice experience
    • Just spent 10 wonderful days here. Our room was spotless and beautifully designed, with a really cool classic vibe. Loved all the little touches – books, an old typewriter, traditional cups – it felt cozy, classic and unique.Breakfast was simple but perfect: fresh, high-quality breads, fruits, jams, and great hot drinks. As a fan of local treats, I easily topped it up with delicious olives and cheese from nearby shops at great prices. The staff were fantastic – super friendly and always ready with sincere advice. A huge plus for a long stay: there are coin laundries close by, which was a lifesaver.

    Cons -

    • You have to hike up Tyiatro street to get to the tram which could make you sweaty if you go too fast.
    • A little bit noise of stairs , I would like if you could prepare breakfast.
    • The top floor is too short for me to get up comfortably

The place is great. Close to Blue Mosque, near bus stations

The top floor is too short for me to get up comfortably

The location is perfect — within walking distance of major sightseeing spots and close to public transport stations. The hotel owner was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay.

I absolutely loved my stay, primarily due to its incredibly strategic location. Being so close to major attractions like the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and many others made exploring the city a breeze. The proximity to the tram terminal was an added bonus, making it super convenient to get around Istanbul.

Stair Access OnlyThe only significant drawback I encountered was the lack of elevator access to the rooms. For guests who have difficulty with stairs or physical limitations, this could be a real challenge. While it wasn't an issue for me personally, it's definitely something to consider for those who might struggle with multiple flights of stairs. Otherwise, everything else about the stay was great.

Next to many restaurants, market and train station. Nice room, very clean

I had a problem with the water flooding the bathroom… but they would send the cleaning lady every morning with new set of towels

It was a very good, nice owner and very well designed mansion. The only downside was a lot of sharp stairs to the rooms, and it was placed in old town and had a bit of a problem with connections to downtown. For two nights, the hotel hasn't electricity and it was very cold but it was temporary. Overall, it was an exceptional experience

    9AdrianPosted on: 2-4-2025

This hotel has a good location, excellent price with the services they provide. The house was very warm, since we were there in winter, it was a joy to enter a very nice warm house.

In one of the rooms the sound of cars driving past was too loud and maybe the furniture was a little outdated, in rest all was great!

The staff are friendly and nice. Internet connection is super fast. The facilities are good. The hotel is in a good location.

If you're unlucky like me, you might end up with an attic room that's incredibly small, where you’ll have to crouch just to reach anything. Also, be aware that there’s no elevator, so you'll need to walk up three flights of stairs to reach the apartment.

    10AlenaPosted on: 10-24-2024

Situated almost in the very centre of the old town. Hospitable staff, very clean and beautiful. In the evenings we went swimming in the sea.

    8SimonaPosted on: 10-18-2024

The hotel is very well located close to the center, there are also 2 private parking lots near the location, one of them covered and secured.

The apartment for 5 people is clean but has old furniture and the sofa for the fifth person needs to be changed.

    8GaoPosted on: 10-14-2024

    Very conveniently located

It was quite noisy given that the floor was made of wood. Would have appreciated some heads-up. Besides, it could be helpful to kindly request the guests not to walk around in their room after a certain hour as the room was not at all sound-proof.

    9JanPosted on: 10-12-2024

Loved the local feel, it was safe, staff ready to help and we loved our little room with balcony. 500 year old turkish bath, blue mosque, grand bazaar, spice market and many other attractions in a 5-15 min walk. Shopping and amazing deals alot cheaper than the markets in the area. Grocery store, bakeries and little food shops with fresh fruit close by. Fun to have coffee on the deck in morning and watch the many Istanbul cats below. Belly dancing and local music at restaurants down the street.

No issues at all. If you want a simple clean hotel this place is it!

Great location. Atmospheric interior. Friendly staff. The room is cozy.

No soundproofing. The floors creak a lot.

    5JulianPosted on: 9-16-2024

    Good area

The room was located on the top floor where i could not stand straight as the ceiling is very low, I was not informed about this.

    10LaiaPosted on: 9-10-2024

This charming, bohemian hotel in the heart of Eminönü was a lovely find. The traditional house has a cozy, authentic feel, and the staff were very friendly and attentive, making my stay enjoyable. A great spot with lots of character!

the stairs can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage. If that's a concern, you might want to consider another spot. But if you're traveling light and don't mind the climb, it's a wonderful place to stay!

What a gorgeous little boutique hotel. The owner renovated an old family home and converted it into a handful of rooms which are beautifully decorated. It is an old place with wooden floors and lots of stairs, but it's great if you want somewhere unique. The noise didn't bother us at all. We had the suite on the 3rd floor which also had a balcony to sit and have coffee on in the mornings. Would absolutely recommend booking that room.

The only other staff member we saw, who I believe was the cleaner, wasn't very friendly. Couldn't get a smile or a word out of her the whole time.

The place is beautiful, good location and the owner is really nice and will help with anything you need
